Things to Do and See.....
Bay Port - This Saginaw Bay town is known for its amazing lake views, great outdoor recreation areas, and the annual Fish Sandwich Festival! These unique whitefish or original Bay Port sandwiches are served at the beginning of August during a festival that includes a petting zoo, craft fair, fireworks, games, and a classic car show. During the rest of the year, Bay Port is a great place to go hunting and fishing along Saginaw Bay. In the summer this is a fabulous spot for jet skiing, motor boating, sailing, canoeing, and swimming.
Fish Point State Wildlife Area - Michigan's Thumb area is famous for its flat terrain, excellent hunting and fishing, terrific wildlife viewing, and beautiful waterlands. The Fish Point State Wildlife Area contains more than 3,000 acres of flat farm fields, diked floodings, and coastal wetlands and prairies. You can climb up the observation tower to see the thousands of ducks that migrate here each spring, watch for snowy owls in winter, or visit during hunting season to do some shooting. The Wildlife Area includes a boat ramp, hiking trails, and fishing areas.
